Scissor Shock is an "avant-progressive no wave electronic freejazz noise band" from Columbus, Indiana that was formed in 2003. The only constant member for the past 5 years has been Adam Cooley (all stringed instruments/vocals/programming/keyboards) though he has been helped out by at least 30 people and is currently employing Aaron Booe as his trombonist, accordianist, double bassist, and bell player. Scissor Shock has released a wide variety of releases (including a release on Crucial Blast records) covering all kinds of genres, though there is a constant underlying focus on loud drums and subtle noise throughout all of their works. Scissor Shock makes songs that turn themselves inside out. The current incarnation of Scissor Shock is as challenging and uncompromising as most non-noise acts could ever come but, with their strange musicality, they will reward the patient listener.
